Israel considered to be a regional super power and even in eyes of others is a super power on world level. Now one can ignore or deny the military power of Israel. During its short life it engaged in many wars against the Palestinians and the surrounding Arab states mostly achieved big victories. It's long hand arrived to Bagdad in 1981 destroying a nuclear central. Before that this hand arrived to Entebbe in Uganda, and many places around the world. Now a days Israel declares openly to everybody who likes to listen that it can attack Iran without any help and burry under the ground all the Iranian nuclear project. This small country talks and behave as a superpower indeed.
But how such a super power stands stands so weak and powerless in front of the fire on the Carmel mountain? And shameless it asks the help of small and poor countries such as Cyprus and Greece? Unbelievable, isn't it?
Israel owns the strongest air force in the whole region, it has 620 F15 and F16 and F35 war planes and unknown number of other war planes. But it has only 7 mall and old fire planes. It has thousands tons of all kind of bombs and missiles and other explosive materials, some of it forbidden according international law and it was used recently in Lebanon and Gaza. but it has only 200 tons of extinguishing fire material which was finished after 7 hours. Although Israel is a small country but it has a huge army of 400,000 soldiers, and in times of emergency almost the whole population can became an army, but it has only 1500 firemen.
In this situation became understandable how this superpower stood powerless and helpless in front of the fire on the Carmel. But this is not all. Corruption and bureaucracy played also an important role. The Fire Service received the first warning at 11:15 AM when the fire was still limited to small area, but the fighting against the fire began only 2 and a half hours later. With small group of firemen only. Because of the bureaucracy it took more hours to bring more firemen from other stations. But it was too late: the wind and the fire were in hurry.
The next step was taken by the politicians. Prime minister Netenyahu, president Peres, interior minister Yeshay, other ministers and members of the Knesset came all of them to praise the spirit of sacrifice and the divine heroism of the firemen. But actually they came to find alibi for their guilt and look for excuses to get rid of responsibility.
Interior minister, Yeshay, who's the direct responsible for the fire service was busy all his time with bringing new racist laws to the Knesset how to stop unifications of Palestinian families, and how to be faithful to Israel as “democratic Jewish” state, how to deport children of foreign workers and how to get more money for his party Shas institution. Fire service was neglected.
More and more voices accuse these politicians with this criminal failure. But no one of them, who's ready to burn gaza strip or burn the whole region with a war dare to take the responsibility for this crime.
As usual they used their super racist attitude to find the guilty somewhere else. The media, the police, the political parties, began to talk about Palestinian terrorist who could set the fire for so called “nationalistic” reasons. What a shame. They forgot that the Carmel mountains are for us, there we have history, life and culture. The Carmel like the Galilee, the Triangle, the Negev are all parts of palestine. The Jewish National Fund (JNF) stole them from us and we demand them back, but we want them back green and beautiful as always they been.
The Israeli leaders play in fire not only in Carmel mountains put also in war fire in the region. If we don't stop them the will burn not only their own hands but all of us.
